Salute To The Real Indian Heroes - Wty Jawan
10th Aug 2017 ,
“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom”
15th August 1947, India was declared as an independent country. Hundreds of people laid down their lives in the battle against the British Raj for over 190 years.
It took us 71 years to build back our country, step-by-step, from the ruins that the British left behind.
India, 71 years in the making!
Today, India is considered as one of the most powerful developing countries in the world. We could reach up to this position due to the consistent support and sacrifices made by our leaders and people. But the most important part played in making India great again is that of our forces. Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force are the backbone of our country, yet very underrated.
We sleep peacefully at night, wake up and roam around freely. Know why? Because of our forces. Our forces stand guard at the border just to make sure we, the citizens of India, are living in peace.
Did you know that the Indian Army is the only army in the world to control the highest battlefield in the world, the Siachen Glacier? They stand guarded day and night in extreme conditions, not bothering about their lives, just so the citizens like us can lead a safe life. Be it land, sea or air, Our forces have their reign spread all across.
While we sleep in peace, there are mothers who pray all night for their sons, sisters who ache for their brothers, wife who waits for her husband to return and daughters who crave for their fathers. The officers who serve in the army do not get to meet their families for a really long time.
Yet, they are not given the kind of respect they deserve. They are forgotten. It's time to pay such families and our forces back. They do not want anything from us, just respect. and there isn't much we can give them but gratitude.
This Independence Day take a moment to appreciate what our defense forces do for us. It’s time to thank them for selflessly being there for us, looking over us, protecting us.
