Gratitude Checklist For An Incredible 2019!

“Why can’t I just be happy and not be bothered by  immaterial thoughts for once?” How often have you said that in 2018? Don’t worry, we’ve got a checklist for you to change the way you look at life in 2019!  

Another year is here and let's not deny the fact that we have already broken more than 50% of resolutions that we took at 31st December Midnight. Keeping up a resolution can be hard, but having a grateful year is simple. (Only, it's not so easy to be simple). Are you ready to get started?
1. Promise yourself to be grateful for whatever life has to offer

Mornings are the most crucial time of the day, for it brings you a whole day of new hope and an opportunity to live to the fullest! As you wake up, don’t rush into the day, rather spend a minute or two on your bed making a silent promise to feel grateful for whatever life has to offer! 

Just remember that the Universe has its way to communicate with you, and all you need to do is listen. Even if things go wrong, if nothing works the way you want it to work, just have the faith that everything happens for a reason. A positive outlook towards life can bring changes in your life abundantly. 

2. See your day as a Blank Canvas

Whether you appreciate it or not, you have to accept the fact that You Only Live Once. So, how about making it a beautiful one, instead of living a life of regrets? The life that we have is the greatest ever gift to us, and we need to make it a practice to appreciate it as much as we can.

Avoid starting your day with doubts or fears. See it as a blank canvas and paint it the way you want it to be. What others think of your art is secondary(in fact, it is unimportant), how it makes you feel is what matters. It’s never too late to start afresh, to be the change that you want to be, to just be you!

3. Don’t be picky, appreciate everything

Sometimes it does happen that life gives you what you need the most rather than what you want the most. But we are so much behind our wants that we forget to appreciate what we have in our hand. Your day can bring you happiness even in the smallest way possible. Don’t overlook it, stop, breathe, appreciate!

A cup of coffee, a cube of chocolate, a hug from a friend, a hello from your parent, anything can make a difference in your so-called busy day. Life need not be taken seriously. Learn to appreciate the little things in life, soon you’ll realize that those were indeed not just little things, but a lifestyle. 

4. Appreciate Time in hand

We know time and tide wait for none, and so, let’s not waste it. Time once lost can never be regained. Every second in a day is a reminder to live the life to the fullest and so, make it a habit to appreciate it when you still have it. 

Give yourself a surprise by taking up new ventures, keeping you entertained, filling in positive vibes and exploring life to the deepest. You never really know what’s waiting for you on the other side until you are willing to let go of your comfort zone. Free yourself from the unknown fears and make every second count.

5. Laugh

Remember what Charlie Chaplin said? A day without laughter is a day wasted. We don’t really want to waste our day now, do we? As we grow up, we blend with the society so well that we restrict ourselves with certain rules. The worries of the past and the fears for future begin to take over that we forget to live in the present. 

Make it a habit to appreciate your moments, laugh your belly out when you want to. Laughter is infectious. Don’t tell us you are looking for swanky ways to keep people around you happy when you’ve got it within you.  

6. Start a gratitude journal

Most of the New Years begin with a resolution to maintain a diary/journal. No wonder the stores are usually flooded with empty pages waiting for you to pick them up and start filling. But it’s only seldom if ever these pages are filled completely. 

You don’t really have to give an account of your entire day in your journal. A simple paragraph of what made you feel grateful at the end of the day will suffice to help you get a good night’s sleep shunning away the fears of tomorrow!

7. Reflect

This can be one of the most effective exercises for a grateful day! All you need is a moment of silence and solitude to reflect on your day. Even if you don’t really have anything to think about, challenge yourself to feel grateful for at least 3 reasons which you can increase eventually. 

For the food you ate, for the people you met, it can be anything. But do think of it and you’ll soon realize what a wonderful world we are living in. By the end of 2019, we can assure you that the way you look at life can change remarkably!
