I just had a bridal shower and I am almost done with all my thank you notes…but I still need to write my soon to be mother in laws thank you note! I am not very good at writing how thankful I am so it would be awesome if someone could help me out! I will pick a best answer! She gave me a 200 gift card. Thanks!

this needs to come from the heart so i wouldn’t take the words of a bunch of random strangers on the internet
mention how happy you are that she raised her son the way she did & that she made him into a wonderful man (assuming that’s true)
& that you really appreciate the gift
but it all needs to be in your own words…
I really like the idea of writing about what you are going to do with the gift card. When people gave us money, "Thank you so much for your contribution to our honeymoon fund! We will think of you as we sip margaritas by the pool!" You would probably do something more sentimental with your mother in law. If you are using it to buy a vase, talk about how it’s something that you’ll one day pass down to your daughter and you’ll always think of her kindness when you see it. Just an idea!

As your son is soon to be my husband you will always have a special place in my heart as we become one. Your gift was most thoughtful and will be most helpful to us. I will purchase a locket and have your picture put in it for my daughter one day. Or I look forward to many more happy days together. Only you can give me the inside hints on your son (she most probably will anyway, although there are some nice MIL’s out there) Or I plan to purchase a special picture frames for each side of the family to go on my mantle. Or I wish to purchase a nice piece of crystal that will stay in the family. Or as future grandmother to any grandchildren we may have, this was especially nice on your part or this gift was awesome and makes me feel already a part of your family.
